Announces Video Contest Winner
The Barn Doors are Opened to Students
St. Louis, MO – December 5, 2011 – The first place video, A Day in Agriculture with the Days, was submitted by Cheryl Day in Cerro Gordo, IL. Her video depicts what it is like for her family to grow and harvest corn and soybeans while also raising Angus Cattle. Her video will help the CropLife Ambassador Network share agriculture with non-farming youth in both rural and urban settings across the Midwest. Her video shares the important roles her children have on the farm. Program Coordinator, Janet Braun explains, “This angle will really connect with the youth our ambassadors visit throughout the Midwest.”
Second Place video, Cutting Edge Technology in Agriculture, was submitted by Jenna Schade a North Linn Iowa FFA member. Her video includes the technologies of aeroponics, wind energy and GPS which will assist the CropLife Ambassador Network to expand the topics we have routinely shared with youth.
The third place video, On the Farm with Mrs. Black, was submitted by Susan Burton of Sullivan, IN. Her video toured her farm guided by Mrs. Black the resident rooster.
The CropLife Ambassador Network provides ambassadors to elementary school classrooms across the Midwest. These videos will be used to bring a bit of the farm into the classroom. Videos can be viewed on YouTube.
