Rationale

We live in a fast-moving society that has grown increasingly dependent upon convenience foods. Even so, some areas of the world are blessed with excellent growing conditions and modern tools; others are struggling to stave off starvation. Most students are unaware exactly where food comes from and how it arrives on their tables.

Introduction to Students

Ever notice that when you go to the grocery store, foods of every flavor, color and variety are available? We Americans certainly love our food! So, excactly where did that food come from? During this weblesson, you will learn that and so much more!

Teachers: You may want to hand out journals to all students at this point in the lesson. They will need to write their answers to the questions in it to make it easier to grade and create a dialogue with you.
