Stewards of the Land: GPS
Farming inputs such as pesticides and fertilizers are very expensive. A farmer wants to use the least amount necessary to do the job. Just like medicine, more is not better. Farming utilizes a technology called “precision farming” made possible by Global Positioning Satellites. This allows a farmer to know how much yield comes from each measured location on a field. Having knowledge of “yield” helps the farmer know the amount of nutrients used to make the crop.
